Join The Go Initiative for the Thighs Before Pies 7th Annual Turkey Trot! Held on Thanksgiving Day at IOOF park in Gunnison, Colorado. This event aims to raise awareness and support mental health in the Gunnison Valley. Gather your friends & family for a turkeylicious outdoor challenge! Take on the 5k run or the 1k wobble. Entrants receive commemorative goodies, children receive participation awards.

Welcome back for the 7th Annual Turkey Trot!
This event has taken place in Crested Butte the past six years, and this year we have moved it down valley to Gunnison. We are excited for a new course and some new faces joining us!
Our mission for this event is to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and the local resources and support available in the Gunnison valley. Join us in supporting this important initiative!
SCHEDULE
Wednesday 11/22/23
4:00-6:00 pm – Bib pickup at 104 W Ruby Ave (Gunnison Valley Orthopedics, Office)
**Please note: there will be no bib pickup morning of the race, thank you!**
Thursday 11/23/23
10:00 am – 5k Turkey Trot Start (this race is timed)
10:30 am – 1k Gobble Wobble Start (this is a fun run! and not timed)
Both races start and end at IOOF Park in Gunnison (124 E. Virginia Ave)
FEES
$35 before November 3; $40 after November 3 – 5K (includes commemorative buff, mug, sticker)
Start: IOOF Park
East on Virginia Ave (9 blocks)
North to East Georgia Ave (2 blocks)
East on East Georgia Ave, then North to the Canal Trail
Turn around after .7 miles
Same route back to IOOF Park
1K Route: see map for approximate 1K turnaround. A volunteer course marshal will be at this location to indicate your turn around point.
Aid station: One hydration (and high fives) aid station will be available on the 5K route, at the turn onto the Canal Trail.

The Gunnison Valley Health Behavioral Department offers a diverse range of services designed to address the specific behavioral health needs of our valley. Through their service offerings and strong community partnerships, Gunnison Valley Health provides both clinical and supportive services to address a broad spectrum of needs.
CB State of Mind mission is to reduce the high rate of suicide in Crested Butte. Their work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through decreasing stigma, increasing support/education, and increasing access their hope is simple: to save lives.
