The gO Initiative’s annual Turkey Trot aims to raise awareness and de–stigmatize the topic of mental health and we truly appreciate you joining us on this mission. Each year the gO Initiative will choose a beneficiary that supports mental health services in the valley.
This year we are thrilled to partner with CB State of Mind in helping fulfill their mission to reduce the high rate of suicide in Crested Butte. Their work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through decreasing stigma, increasing support/education, and increasing access their hope is simple: to save lives.
As you may or may not know, your mental health after an injury needs to be healed just as much as the injury itself. In addition to treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse and eating disorders, gO has a licensed clinical social worker, who focuses on treating brain injuries and post traumatic stresses, which can follow a skiing or biking accident. We are excited to have a counselor on board and know that she will become an excellent resource in the valley.
If you’re interested in obtaining services with a therapist, please contact CB State of Mind or call gO at 970.349.5103.
