Sarah moved to the Gunnison valley in 1999 and since then hasn’t had a chance to even think about living anywhere else. In 2012 she joined gO Orthopedics, which is now Gunnison Valley Orthopedics, and helped create and develop the performance side of the orthopedic practice which included development programs, camps, professional teams, and races. Thus the gO Initiative was born in 2017 after realizing the need for supporting and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the Gunnison valley, particularly among girls and kids.

Sarah particularly enjoys serving the valley communities and being a representative for all things gO. There’s not a day that goes by where Sarah isn’t appreciative of the outdoor recreation that the Gunnison valley provides—to be able to instill a sense of appreciation and importance of health to the next generation as well as today’s generation consumes her thoughts on a daily basis. Sarah is President of the gO Initiative and an active member of the Gunnison/Crested Butte communities. She loves to take advantage of any free time away from the office to ride, run or ski with her friends, or chase her son Henry doing the same.

Having previously lived all over the state of Colorado, Jennifer settled on Gunnison for its vast outdoor opportunities. She is raising her adventurous daughter among these hills and couldn’t think of a better place to call home. She integrates her personal philosophy of being healthy in body & mind by working along side Gunnison Trails in Design, Marketing & Outreach roles, sitting on the Gunnison Parks & Recreation advisory board, as well as the Gunnison Outdoor Initiative (GOI) board. In her day job, she helps others achieve success, as she is a local business owner of Swifthaus Design where she creates digital designs, marketing plans, and website development.

Her mission is to continue to make Gunnison a rich environment. A healthy life, physically and mentally, is a life worth living. She believes she struck gold upon moving to the Gunnison Valley. You can find her on the trails (between work projects of course) on one of her many bikes, skis, or random outdoor equipment.

Rob first arrived in Crested Butte in 1991 … he was one of those who came for the skiing but ended up staying for the summers. In the early years Rob lived in his ‘61 VW, studied marketing at Western, and met his wife Bonnie on the chairlift.  Many moons later, they raised two beautiful young ladies, had amazing adventures, and have been blessed to continue to call this place home. With a passion to give back and serve others Rob has served on numerous boards and is currently a STEP Advisor for the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley, and an advisor for the SBDC. Rob is also actively involved as a coach for the Gunnison High School mountain bike team.

Most days you can find Rob on the trails or slaving over a hot desk doing digital advertising and website development for Midnight Marketing Solutions.

A Western Colorado native, Carlie has lived in the Gunnison Valley since 2004. Carlie came to the valley to study at Western Colorado University and to be close to her family. Building community and supporting nonprofits have kept Carlie busy in Gunnison. She served as the Executive Director of Gunnison Arts Center for 12 years, founded the Gunnison Creative District in 2021, and now works with Gunnison Valley Health Foundation as Development Coordinator. Don’t be fooled by the busy nonprofit worker standard though, Carlie makes lots of time for adventuring with friends and her kiddo. She spends many hours on a bike, paddleboard, skis, and whatever other fun toys might come along!
