Let’s kick off Crested Butte Bike Week with some FUN on THURS June 22, 2017!
Members of our gO Professional Mountain Bike Team will lead clinics and help riders to get a better grasp of the legendary terrain that surrounds the Crested Butte Community. It is FREE to the first 30 registrants! Kids, Adult Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced.. ALL WELCOME. Parents bring your kids, kids bring your parents!!

All riders will begin the day working on basic mountain bike skills. From there we will split up into groups according to level and ability..
Kids: Work on skills most of the morning, then venture to Lower Loop trail system, and/or bike path in the afternoon.
Beginners: Venture to the Lower Loop and possibly Lupine Trail and/or Budd Trail.
**Riders should be able to navigate up/down some mellow singletrack and be somewhat familiar with offroad trail riding. This group will work on correct body positioning, vision corrections and finding reference points and cornering. Some time will be spent on mastering small natural obstacles. Please plan on a 2 to 2-1/2 hour ride from town.
Intermediate: Spend the day going through portions of the Fat Tire 40 race route, then venture to the Mtn Trails
**Riders should be able to navigate up/down intermediate singletrack. This group will work on riding terrain with some roots, rocks and some tight corners.. while keeping in mind correct body position and vision. We will preview the end portion(s) of the Fat Tire 40 course. Please plan on a 3 hour ride from town.
Advanced: Spend the day going through portions of the Fat Tire 40 race route, then venture to Upper Loop, Upper Upper Loop and Strand.
**Riders should be confident on technical singletrack. This group will work on riding terrain with lots of roots, rocks, tight corners and trees, and some steep terrain. We will preview the beginning portion(s) of the Fat Tire 40 course. Please plan on a 3 to 3-1/2 hour ride from town.
**All rides subject to change in case of weather, conditions, general skills of groups..
** Required Equipment : mountain bike, helmet, extra tube (even if you ride tubeless tires), pump and/or air cartridges, water and snacks. Also please be prepared for rain, wind and/or inclement weather. And please apply sunscreen, rain or shine!**
Thursday, June 22
**Please come dressed and ready to ride at 9:30am! Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, wear sunscreen and bring plenty of snacks/water if needed..
9:30am – Meet at Vendor Village, next to Center for the Arts, to register, sign waivers, etc.
10:00am – Skills Clinic.. work on the basics (not necessarily mandatory)
11:30 – lunch break (PLEASE Bring Your Own Lunch or gOgrab your own)
12:30 – Meet back at Chamber; break into groups and gOride!
4:00 – return to Chamber, 1 free Bristol beer included!
